Shaka House is an airy 3 bedroom villa in Dikwella, Hiriketiya Sri Lanka.
Hiriketiya is a magical bay situated in the South of Sri lanka in Dikwella. The bay is the perfect place for surfing and swimming in the gentle waves and just enjoying days on the coconut palm fringed beach. Board rentals are available on the beachfront so that you can get the whole family in the water to enjoy.
Shaka house is situated at the top of the hill just up from the corner of the bay , its a few minutes walk. Our property is a renovated sri lankan home that came to life by wanting to make a holiday home for our family and other like minded adventurers to enjoy the luxuries and pleasures of home yet set in a exotic far away land. Each room at Shaka House has king size bed , en suite bathroom, air conditioner and fans. Its a luxuriously rustic escape from the fast pace of life.
2 of our rooms have private courtyards and outdoor rain showers while the 3rd room has double doors leading out to the Garden.
Shaka House has a patio leading onto our 9m swimming pool. The patio/ verandah has an outdoor Sofa and a dining table to relax overlooking the tropical jungle garden and pool. There is a lawn for kids to frolic and play alongside the house. Monkeys , birds , peacocks and squirrels are your every day wildlife at Shaka House. The sounds of the birds and the smells of the foliage are enchanting.
Our open plan kitchen and bar counter is perfect for socializing while you cook up a storm in paradise.
The kitchen is fully equipped with gas stove , fridge , kettle, toaster, microwave, blender, cutlery and crockery.
If you prefer to have your food prepared for you, we arrange that our in house staff can cook you something delicious for breakfast lunch or dinner .
Shaka House is at the top of the hill but close enough to the sea that you can hear its waves crashing on the headland rocks . It’s a stroll to both the Hiriketiya and Dikwella beaches , one in either direction with restaurants, bars and coffee shops in walking distance .

Fresh, white and airy , our 3 rooms have king size beds, Quality linen and ensuite bathrooms with fluffy Towels. All rooms have air conditioners , fans , clothes rails and en suite Bathrooms , Shaka house comfortably sleeps 6 guests.

Hiriketiya is a great surfing bay for both beginners and experienced surfers. The best days are on down on the beach :)

There are many little restaurants to experience in the bay , all in walking distance from our house , often times there is live music to enjoy too

Saturday is market day, if you want to experience the bustle of a local market and all the fresh produce , do this

The Team
We are the Petersens that were in search of a paradise escape from Dubai . Tammy Petersen's passion for Sri Lanka inspired the Shaka House project.
Donna is Tammy's baby sister that trawled over on one of the family adventures , caught the vision for the magical jungle bay and stayed! She has been an integral part of the growth and upkeep of our beautiful place .
Sarath is our amazing house keeper keeping Shaka standards high at all times .
Hiruni is our sweet darling Chef that prepares your wonderful Meals .
